29 Real estate projects in Kerala RERA defaulters list

Trivandrum: The Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA) has published a list of 29 real estate projects in the State where the promoters have failed to upload the project details on the K-RERA web portal (rera.kerala.gov.in). These promoters/developers have failed to upload the information despite registering the projects with the authority.

K-RERA has cautioned the public against dealing with these 29 real estate projects and also warned the public to be careful in carrying out transactions related to these projects. Steps have been initiated for imposing penalties on the companies, said the authority in a statement.

The Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA) was constituted by the Government of Kerala under the aegis of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016 to usher in greater accountability and deliver value through regulatory compliance, furthering a sense of conduct and public confidence in the real estate sector while also fostering a healthy and competitive sector.

RERA Kerala aims to be an influential advocate of the real estate segment ensuring accountability, citizen-centric measures, and enhanced financial discipline safeguarding the interests of the consumer. The authority has also established an adjudicating mechanism for speedy dispute redressal regarding registered real estate projects including delay in project delivery, quality of construction, non-provision of promised amenities, diversion of land for purposes other than those mentioned in the layout plan, etc.

As per the Real Estate Act, disclosure of all the details of the property including approved building plan, layout plan, land details with encumbrances, and other important details about the project by the builder to the Authority and the public is mandatory.
